|I Augustus Scofield being of sound mind and memory do make publish and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
One- I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Sarah Scofield one third of my Estate both real and personal.
Two – I give devise ad bequeath unto my beloved children Robert Scofield, Martha Bleamaster, Etta Scofield all the rest and residue of my estate to be divided equally among the said three children.
Three- I appoint and constitute William Holmes Executor of this will.
Dated at Lyons, Iowa July 1st. 1884
The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by Augustus Scofield in our presence and he at the same time declared the same to be his last Will and Testament and by his request we signed our names thereto as witnesses both in his presence and in the presence of each other.

Codicil to my last Will.
I August Scofield being of sound mind and memory do hereby make this a Codicil to my last Will made by me on the 1st day of July 1884. In manner and form following:
Whereas on the 30th day of April 1887 at Lyons City Clinton County Iowa I Augustus Scofield did then and there make a full and complete settlement with my wife Sarah Scofield and did pay to her the sum of Fifteen hundred dollars in good and lawful money and whereas by said settlement and payment of said money the said Sarah Scofield my wife did release all further claims out of my estate both real and personal now therefore in consideration of said contract and consideration by me paid to my wife Sarah Scofield I do hereby revoke, vacate, set aside and annul all that portion of my last Will and Testament which reads as follows viz:
1st – I give devise and bequeath unto my wife Sarah Scofield one third of my estate both real and personal, all of the foregoing I hereby by this Codicil take out of said will for the reason above state that my said wife Sarah Scofield did accept and receive from me the said sum of fifteen hundred dollars in full of her one third interest in my said property both real and personal.

The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof subscribed by Augustus Scofield in our presence and he at the same time declared the same to be his last Will and Testament and by his request we signed our names thereto as witnesses both in both in his presence and in the presence of each other.

I William Kreim, clerk of the District Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the January Term A. D. 1888 of said Court the will and instruments in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date in the 1st day of July 1884 and on the 15th day of August 1887 was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of Augustus Scofield late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded as such Will and Testament and Codicil. In witness whereof I have hereunto at my hand and affixed the seal of the court at my office in Clinton in said County this 23rd day of January A. D. 1888.
