|I Christ Peter Grill of DeWitt Clinton County Iowa being desirous of adjusting my worldly affairs and being of sound disposing mind do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and codicils thereto.
First – I direct that my executrix hereinafter to be named shall pay all of my lawful debts and all expenses of my last sickness and funeral expenses.
Second- I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Johannah Grill all of the residue and remainder of my property after a compliance with the first provision herein made, both real and personal of any name and nature wherever the said maybe found.
Third – I do hereby appoint my said wife my sold executrix of this my last will and testament and that she administer on my said estate without bond.

We Wm. Gurins and G. L. Johnson whose names are hereto attached as attesting witnesses say that we sign our names as attesting witnesses at the request of the Testator Christ Peter Grill who signed the foregoing instrument to be his signature to his last will and testament and requested such of us to sign the same as witnesses thereto at the place and time above written

I William Kreim clerk of the District Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the September Term A. D. 1887 of said Court the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date in the 20th day of March 1880 was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of Christ Peter Grill late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded as such will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto at my hand and affixed the seal of the court at my office in Clinton in said County this 25th day of Oct. A. D. 1887.
