Of Clinton County Iowa
I Peter Langholdt of the Township of Welton, County of Clinton, State of Iowa being aware of the uncertainty of life and in failing health but of sound mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following to wit.
First – I give devise and bequeath to my wife Anna Anderson Langholdt my seventy nine acres of land located as follows: The S ½ of the N. W. ¼ of Section Thirty Three (33) Township eighty two (82) Range three (3) in the county of Clinton State of Iowa, East of the 5th P. M. Also all my household furniture goods, chattels and personal property about my house, she to pay any just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the charge of proving and registering this my will.
Second – It is also my will and desire that as soon as my son Peter Langholdt becomes of age, my wife shall pay over to him for his own especial use and benefit the sum of three hundred dollars $300.00.
Third – It is also my will and desire that at the death of my wife Anna Anderson Langholdt or at any time when she may arrange to relinquish her life interest in the above mentioned homestead the same may revert to my children Lena Langholdt Eggers and Peter Langholdt or to the lawful heirs of each in the following manner. The homestead as above described shall revert to my son Peter Langholdt out of which he shall pay to my above named daughter the sum of one thousand dollars $1000.00 as soon as he takes possession thereof.
Fourth – I hereby empower my wife to sell and dispose of my personal property chattels, good and household furniture at any time after my decease whenever and in whatever way she sees best fit and to use the receipts for the payment of my just debts.
Fifth – I hereby appoint my wife Anna guardian of such of my children as may be minors at the time of my death.
Sixth – I nominate and appoint as Executors of this my last will and testament my wife Anna Anderson Langholdt and John Hopp.
In witness whereof I Peter Langholdt to this my last will and testament have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of February Eighteen hundred and eighty seven.

I, William Kreim clerk of the District Court in and for said county do hereby certify that on this day at the April term A. D. 1887 of said court the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date on the 5th day of February 1887 was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last Will and Testament of the real and personal estate of Peter Langholdt late of said County deceased and was by said court ordered to be recorded as such Will and Testament.
