I William Usher of the Township of Brookfield in the County of Clinton and State of Iowa of the age of sixty three and being of sound mind do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following:

Second:  I give and bequeath to
Emma Parnell Two Thousand Dollars ($2000)
(note:  There was no First)

Third:  I give and bequeath to
Neosha? May Parnell One Thousand dollars ($1000) Daughters of James Parnell of Oswego Kansas.  (note:  There was no Fourth)

Fifth:  The balance of all of which I may be possessed I give and bequeath to my sister (or her heirs)
Elizabeth Crouch wife of Samuel Crouch of Buttle, Sussex County Old England.  And Lastly I hereby appoint John Teskey and Claus C. Rune executors of this my last will.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this second (2nd) day of September one thousand eight hundred and eighty five (1885).

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof signed and declared by the said
William Usher as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed and names as witness thereto.

William Kreim, clerk of the District Court in and for said County do hereby certify that on this day at the January Term A. D. 1889 of said Court the will and instrument in writing hereunto annexed and bearing date in the 2nd day of Sept. 1885 was duly proved before and allowed by said court as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal estate of William Usher late of said County deceased and was by said Court ordered to be recorded as such will and testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto at my hand and affixed the seal of the court at my office in Clinton in said County this 15th day of January A. D. 1889.
