|Jens Marinus and Johanne Christensen|
|Jens and Johanne are both from the Hjorring area of Denmark. They had one child, John, who changed his name to make it more American, that was born in Denmark. The other children were born in the United States. Jens arrived in the US in 1883 and Johanne and John came later. They settled first in Pittsburgh, PA where they had their family. Jens and Johanne lived for a short time in Clinton, Iowa before moving to Lake Zurich, Illinois where Jens eventually purchased a farm on which he raised chickens.

|Alfred Christensen, son of John and Louisa Irene Christensen. Served in WWII and died in a motor vehicle accident just at the end of the war. He is buried in France and is the brother of Jennie, Robert and Emma below.|
