Daniel was apprenticed to Robert Jones, a silversmith about 1781. Robert Jones was Daniel's mother's brother in Law. Daniel moved to Clerkenwell about 1800 and stayed there until 1811. He was a celebrated cricketer and a member of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Daniel first had his mark for silversmithing in 1794. Some of the tea service created by Daniel is still found in antique sales and brings a large price.
